Austin sits in the middle of what’s known as the Texas Triangle - the travel corridor connecting Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, and one of the most concentrated areas for trafficking in the state. Statewide, an estimated 313,000 Texans are survivors of human trafficking. Around 79,000 of them were minors when it happened.

Magdalene House Austin is doing something about it. Founded in 2016, they’re the first long-term therapeutic residential program in Central Texas, offering adult women survivors of sex trafficking the time, stability, and community needed to actually heal. Long-term, relational, peer-based care. Because they believe what I believe: healing happens in the context of belonging.
